Jay holds directorships with several companies including Capstone Business Improvement and Assurance, Capstone Asia Pacific and Enskills Learning and Development. Jay was an integral part of major business initiatives and has implemented a number of significant cost savings and process reengineering projects for international firms. He has significantly contributed to developing and achieving business strategies, with significant bottom line enhancement. Jay qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in the United Kingdom and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Institute of Internal Auditors and the Australian Institute of Management.

Desmond McGoldrick Linguistics Instructor Language Educator As a second language learner (Spanish and German) and educator with over fifteen years in-class experience in Ireland and the United States, Desmond’s expertise lies in his ability to use the personality strengths of the individual language learner. By enabling the student to develop a learning strategy that matches his/her individual learning style, he facilitates second language acquisition through a process of learning which, while cognitively challenging, is both enjoyable and personally rewarding. With a background in Sales and Marketing and Education, Desmond believes that learning is a life-long activity which fosters self-confidence as well as prolonging physical and mental health.

Patrick McGoldrick Senior Training Consultant Patrick McGoldrick has been a writer and editor all his working life, and has held senior editorial positions in six national newspapers in the UK, Ireland and Canada: the Daily Express, the Sun, the Irish Independent Group, the Toronto Star, the Irish Times and the Irish Mail on Sunday. He also founded, published and edited Canada’s first Irish newspaper. He has been a trainer and facilitator of personal development courses, lectured in business networking, and developed and delivered courses in English for newspapers, business writing and real estate reporting, and has negotiated wage and technology agreements for the National Union of Journalists and newspaper management. Patrick is a firm believer in the philosophy of win/win, and is an unapologetic advocate of plain English in business and a fierce opponent of jargon. He took early retirement from journalism to concentrate on helping non- and second language English speakers in Asia to develop their conversational, writing and business networking skills. He joined Enskills in 2012 and has quickly become an integral member of our training team.

Jan Burnes is a dynamic Trainer and Corporate Facilitator with over 25 years experience in the area of Leadership and Management. Previously the managing director of a top performing company employing over 1,000 people, Jan now uses her real-life experience in developing people at all levels to achieve higher standards of performance and productivity. Jan developed training packages that were subsequently accredited by the NSW Vocational Education & Training Board (VETAB), and gained reciprocal recognition from the official accrediting bodies in other States and Territories. Her training programmes were widely acknowledged as representing International Best Practice in training principles. During this period she trained over 2,000 business professionals including Business Enterprise Centre staff and management, bankers, accountants, lawyers and financial advisers.

Pam specialises in people skills workshops, and is an accredited facilitator for the internationally acclaimed communication programmes Think on Your Feet® and Writing Dynamics™ . Another major focus of her work is Time Management where she helps people discover how to focus their activities to achieve results. Pam has extensive experience in developing and tailoring programmes to meet the needs of her clients, and won a training design award. Prior to establishing a consulting business, Pam managed the training function for an international bank, a business association and a food manufacturer, and was a financial advisor. Her career in learning and development began after completing a degree in education, and the financial sector has been her main client focus.
